How AI Integrates into Global Markets
When I started training frontier AI systems in the spring of 2026, I decided to begin this Side Quest, in parallel, by asking my new assistant Claude a simple question:
How is AI integrating into global markets?
The conversation that began that day continues still. This blog seeks to make sense of the consequences of that decision, and it includes selections of conversations, briefings, and other interactions I have had with a specific AI agent engaging with a persistent memory. Also included are my own annotations of this ongoing conversation. The body of corresponding documentation that’s grown over the duration of this Side Quest has become considerable, so where applicable, look to my notes in the margins to clarify any references or alphanumeric indicators that may occur inline.
